Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction Mami Mizutori said he was very impressed with Bali’s success in synergizing the handling of the pandemic by implementing the local wisdom system. Mami Mizutori also asked the Governor of Bali to share his experience handling the pandemic with the world.
In addition, Mami Mizutori also appreciated Bali’s success in organizing international events such as the IMF and World Bank meetings in 2018. The appointment of Bali as the host of the 7th GPDRR was rated by Mami Mizutori as the right decision.
“Global events can be held well in Bali. I am confident that we can rise from this pandemic by working together to reduce the impact of disasters and rise together with many governments in other countries,” said Mami Mizutori.
During the visit to Bali, special representative of the UN Secretary General for Disaster Risk Reduction Mami Mizutori also held a meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) and Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) who discussed the preparation of the 7th GPDRR.
Also accompanying Mami Mizutori in the visit of two translators from the Cabinet Secretariat, namely Muhammad Ersan Pamungkas and Muhardi as interpreters. (stk/ahr/*)
