BOLTIM, Kroniktoday.com – Responding to motorist complaints related to road bodies in Tutuyan Subdistrict used by residents to dry agricultural products, the Boltim Transportation Office promised to step down to carry out the crackdown, Monday (25/04/2022).
Boltim Head of Transportation Saipudin Mokoagow insists that public roads are not used for personal use.
“We will immediately go down to bring order to the people who use the road to dry agricultural products,” Saipudin said.
He added that in addition to providing understanding to the community, his party will crack down on citizens who are caught using the shoulder of the road for personal interests.
“We will act decisively, and will provide understanding to residents not to use public facilities, especially utilizing public roads because it can endanger other road users,” he said.
Previously, Bela Hafi, a resident of Togid Village, Tutuyan District, asked Dishub Boltim to step down to carry out a crackdown related to abuse of public road use.
According to Bela, the road body used to dry agricultural products can endanger passing motorists.
“This is very dangerous for road users. Almost half of the road body has been used by residents to dry agricultural products. In addition to myself, there was also a motorcyclist who almost had an accident because he avoided the remaining chunks of corn disposal and other agricultural products,” he concluded. (Andry)
