JAKARTA, Kroniktoday.com – The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) will make the Sinovac vaccine as one of the third dose of COVID-19 vaccines or boosters. This is a follow-up to The Supreme Court Decision Number 31P /HUM/2022 on the recommendation for the provision of halal vaccines in the national vaccination program.
“For this reason, people who feel comfortable to use the Sinovac vaccine, we open the opportunity for the vaccine to be used as a booster vaccine,” said a spokesperson for COVID-19 Vaccination. Kemenkes Siti Nadia Tarmizi, quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Health, Tuesday (04/26/2022).
Sinovac vaccine has obtained halal recommendation from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) through MUI Fatwa No. 02 of 2021. Then for the mutual aid vaccination mechanism, sinopharm vaccine also obtained a halal fatwa recommendation from MUI through MUI Fatwa No. 9 of 2022.
In addition to these two vaccines, there are four other COVID-19 vaccine regimens that have obtained emergency use authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration (BPOM), namely AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen. The use of various types of vaccines allows people to immediately be able to adjust various health conditions with the various types of vaccines available.
